Today we created a questionnaire to get feedback from different audiences and see what they like and prefer in film trailers.
The results for my question air was that most people i know including friends and family mixed ages between 16-45 enjoy horror films, and gave me ideas of what they look for in a horror film trailer eg- jumpy parts, things you don't expect, give a scene of the plot, gory bits.
Age i think will defenitley watch it is 16-25, both male and female as the nature of the film is based on facebook and that is mainly for older teenagers. From my question air results these are the most likely to enjoy horror films.

Research and planning- Analysis of teaser trailer one
- Media Language- The trailer starts with non digetic sound, with reconsible music.
- Then use a type write font / a computer like screen 'Everyday 2 billion cell phones ring' with digetic off screen sound to the sound of someone text it on a mobile phone buttons.
- Then two women sat in a room and theres a track from the women to the cell phone, there is a close up of the mobile so you can see its ringing clearly then the characters are blurred in the background to show thats the highlight they want the audience to see.
- Another slide with a type writer font 'Sometimes you answer the call..' the eclipse meaning , which shows they want to get a certain messege across.
- Then theres a jump cut to the cell phone, and voice over saying 'One missed call' which reflects on the title.
- Another jump cut to the blue screen and type write font saying 'and sometimes you should'nt' , then zooms into the font to make it stand out more this is when the trailer gets more tense.
- Then followed on by a scream and a shot of the 2 girls on the phone, then a voice over speaks which makes the audience know thats what the character has heard over the phone.
- The music then changes to what it sounds like a trangle which gives it a spooky effect for a short time this is played there is then a flash of the girl again fast pace editing is used to show suspence.
- The trailer carrying on with fast past editing flashing to black screen which isnbt very clear but this is to give it a horror effect.
- There then is flash of the girl screaming (digetic sound).
- The words 'What will it sound like' come up which obvouisly refers to the scream we just heard. Then When you die' comes up, fast pace editing of many different shots of explosions and creatures. The music then changes to fast pace drums to give a danger outlook.
- The screen the goes black and the typerwiter comes up 'One Missed Call' which is the title and the sound of the traingle comes back on.
- There is then a 5 second scene of the a man and the women and you here her scream then the realse date and coming soon. This is to show intense for the audiences and make the jump.
- Audience - The audience for this trailer i think will be 15 +
- I think this film is aimed at both genders, but more to males as its a grusome horror, although many will watch it at the cinema in couples.
- I think the people watching this film will be intelligent as you have to work out whats happening during the film, i also think the people will have to be quite outgoing to enjoy the thrill and suspence of the trailer.
- I think it will be working class people and students mainly who watch this film.
- Genre - Horror, although the title doesn't seem that scary it is a strange name and some horrors do this now.
- As soon as it starts it play a light simple music, which makes you wonder what genre it could be.
- It then goes on to the typewriter and you see when the words become horrorish and the music sounds more scary.
- Thats when you can tell the genre, the editing which is fast pace and jump cuts which again shows the genre as many horrors use this.
- Also the spooky music shows this.

Research and Planning- Regulation
The BBFC (British board of film classification) regulate what certificate films should be given.
The common certificates that are given are:
U- Suitable for all ages
PG- Parent guidance- suitable for all ages if parents accompany young children.
12A- Suitable for over 12 unless accompanied with an adult.
12- Suitable for over 12 year olds.
15- Aged 15 and over.
18- Aged 18 and over.
R18- To be shown in special licensed cinemas, or supplied in licensed sex shops and adults not less that 18 years if age.
After researching different age certificates i have decided i would like my film to be either 15 or 18 as most horror films are regulated at this age, i would like to put my film up to an 18 to help promote it as most people know if a film is scary the age certificate would be 18.
The BBFC mark the age restrictions on the amount of violence, sexual scenes, horror/fear.

Research and Planning- Teaser Poster
This is my teaser poster that i produced, i use this genre as this is what genre i want to use for my teaser trailer. I edited the girls face to make her stand out from the background and made the background black and white i did this to emphasis the character. The title matches the girls lips and eyes , the tag line relates to the title and give you an inset to what the film is about.
Research and Planning- Pitch
Research and Planning- Interrogation scene.
This is an interrogation scene, me and two others produced as a group. We each had are own roles two of us was the actors and one was filming. I enjoyed this part as i felt i put a lot of effort in to the scene and enjoyed my specific role. I think this test helped us get an idea on how to produce a short clip, and acting techniques. I think the interrogation we emphasized in the clip gives out that approach. After wards we went off on are own and edited parts are self to help the clip have exacted continuity and cut out any wrong parts which were filmed. I didn't add any background music as i didn't think it was needed in this type of scene.

Research and Planning: Genre
I am going to research four different genres to help are group decide on what genre we would use in are film trailers. I wanted to learn and research into all genres to explore in depth each one to choose which one interests me the most. Below are the genres i have looked in to and studied:
Action: Action films have high energy, fast speed, big budget films, stars, stunts, material arts and mostly non stop motion. To me some action films seem non realistic as they have edited and changed that much in there movies. They use a lot of the stereotypes with villains and heros or protagonist promoted by big stars including Bruce Willis, Charles Branson, Sean Connery etc.
This is an action film i have chosen i think it has typical connotations of an action film and gives you an instep to a high budget action film which is modern.
DIE HARD 2- Action film trailer.
">
Romance: Romance films are full of emotion and love and the romantic affection by two people in the film. A typical romance film is normally where a male meets a female or vise versa. They may be a obsticle in which creates that the couple can not be together but normally entitles in a happy ending. Some romances may upset the audience as some may be heart breaking others may make the audience cry with happyiness. Many romances couples watch them as its a romantic experience, although i think the audiences are more females as its a stereotype that women like romance films.
These films are ones such as 'The Note Book', 'What women want', Days of summer etc..

- Horror- Horror films are there to make the audienced feel scared or even disgusted by what they see. They feature deaths, killings and violence mainly to show horror to there audiences. Horror films use many jump cuts through out filming which make audiences physically jump whilst watching them this may give them a thrill while watching horror films. Horror films have become very popular over the years. However most horrors are surreal or supernatural. Examples of this genre are films such as, Saw, One missed Call, Nightmare on Elm Street etc...
- Science Fiction- The genre usually features Propps theory such as heros, villians. Other characters such as alliens, distant planets, nuclear havoc, futurist settings and technology. Examples such as Invasions of body snatchers, Star Wars etc...
