Research and Planning- Regulation

The BBFC (British board of film classification) regulate what certificate films should be given.
The common certificates that are given are:

U- Suitable for all ages
PG- Parent guidance- suitable for all ages if parents accompany young children.
12A- Suitable for over 12 unless accompanied with an adult.
12- Suitable for over 12 year olds.
15- Aged 15 and over.
18- Aged 18 and over.
R18- To be shown in special licensed cinemas, or supplied in licensed sex shops and adults not less that 18 years if age.

After researching different age certificates i have decided i would like my film to be either 15 or 18 as most horror films are regulated at this age, i would like to put my film up to an 18 to help promote it as most people know if a film is scary the age certificate would be 18.

The BBFC mark the age restrictions on the amount of violence, sexual scenes, horror/fear.
